To convert a "10" system to accommodate Cinemascope film with four-channel stereophonic sound
reproduction, the following additional items are recommended for accommodating an audience up to
2,000 persons, subject to certain amendments dependent upon economic and individual auditorium
requirements; arc lamp capacities should be carefully coordinated with the picture size required;
in general, for a given light source and with a screen of excellent quality and condition, the
projected picture width (1:2.55) may be increased under optimum projection conditions by 25% over
the conventional picture width (1:1.33). In the event that the ratio of 1:2.55 is too severe,
the #2249UC .715" x .715" aperture (1:2) may be specified permitting a projected picture width
increment of approximately 33-1/3% under optimum conditions.
